We already know the basics on the Microsoft Courier, but an in-depth view into the actual workings of this device is very interesting. It is packed full of a lot of little systems that can do a lot for your average every day living.
It is described as being more a booklet. Looks like a book, opens up like a book. You have two pages to keep notes and documents organized in. It is running on top of Windows 7, much like how Micosoft Surface runs on top of Windows Vista.
It is being explained that the Courier builds on Microsoft Office OneNote. The term “infinite journal” is very descriptive as to how this device will work. It can be used as a journal, a continuous and search-able document. It can collect text, diagrams, web page, contacts and a lot more. The journal can be published online in part or whole. It will consist of a library where you can store your notebooks, apps and subscriptions and everything else you have collected.
The new concept of this device is that you can navigate between pages, move images, drag data around, all using the multi-touch finger gestures. A natural way to keep your contacts and appointments a finger touch away.
The Courier is still in the secretive mode, “rumors and speculations” still abounding. No pricing at this point. Microsoft is still refusing to comment on anything Courier related.
So…we sit, waiting, in anticipation, for any little tidbit that Microsoft throws our way, just as we did with Apple’s iPad.
